Document Type Consultation

The telecommunications infrastructure comprising cell towers, base stations, fiber installations and associated infrastructure serve as the key access point in mobile and fixed networks, providing the essential link between users and the broader Information and Communication Technology infrastructure.

As the demand for digital services continues to surge, CRA Strategy highlights the need to review the framework for infrastructure development and sharing.

The draft documents presented for public consultation aim to provide clearer guidance on the responsibilities and procedures related to the deployment and sharing of infrastructure, with a specific focus on, In-Building Wiring (fixed line services), In-Building Solutions (indoor mobile coverage) and Mobile Sites (outdoor mobile coverage).

The proposed amendments to the previous texts are expected to bring several benefits to the whole industry, including:

  • Streamlined infrastructure deployment processes;
  • Reduced administrative burdens for stakeholders;
  • Enhanced quality and reliability of telecommunications services; and ultimately
  • Better access to communication technologies for consumers.
