Regulatory Authority’s Standard Consultation Process

The Regulatory Authority (RA) of the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) published today its Standard Consultation Process document. The document outlines the process the Regulatory Authority will adopt when conducting public and industry consultations.

Comments were sought on the Standard Consultation Process between 19 December 2012 and 17 January 2013.

The Standard Consultation Process sets out the steps involved and the role of the relevant parties within the Regulatory Authority  and external stakeholders in a consultation exercise.  

The primary objectives of the Standard Consultation Process are:

• to streamline and clarify the consultation procedures followed by the Regulatory Authority;
• to identify the role of the Regulatory Authority and external stakeholders during the preparation of a consultation document and the consultation phase, with indicative timeframes; and
• to facilitate the development of key regulatory instruments (e.g., policies, guidelines, instructions) in an open and transparent manner.
