ictQATAR Publishes Latest Quality of Service Reports of Qtel and Vodafone

Reports Address Compliance with Telecommunications Quality of Service Requirements for Both Fixed and Mobile Networks and Services

The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) published today the Quality of Service(QoS) Reports (QCRs) submitted by the Public Fixed and Mobile Licensed Service Providers in Qatar i.e. QTel and Vodafone. The reports contain results for the period from April 2012 to September 2012. The QCRs indicate each operator’s level of compliance with regards to their QoS obligations set forth in their respective Public Fixed and Mobile Licenses.

Publication of the QoS reports is part of ictQATAR’s ongoing commitment towards increased transparency and assurance that consumers get the right information to make informed choices regarding the selection of telecommunications service providers.  This is particularly relevant for mobile services now that Mobile Number Portability has now been introduced in Qatar.

The QCRs include a range of parameters against which the service providers report their performance, including network quality, complaints received per 100 subscribers, successful call ratios, dropped call rates, billing correctness and time to solve billing complaints.

The QoS results have been supplied by QTel and Vodafone in accordance with their QoS Compliance Report (QCR) obligations under Annexure E of their Fixed licenses. The data is published as received from the operators and has not been independently verified by ictQATAR.

The detailed QoS results along with a summary overview of Service Providers’ overall compliance with regards to the Quality of Service can be viewed here.
