President Decision No. (22) of 2019 issuing a Decision and Orders in relation to the Ooredoo complaint against Vodafone’s “Inflight Unlimited Data” Illegal and misleading Claims.

Ooredoo lodged a complaint against the “Inflight Unlimited Data” package offered by Vodafone for use on airplanes. Ooredoo complained that the use of unlimited was misleading as the package was not fair to customers due to the fair usage policy which limited the offer to 20 Gb. The CRA investigated the claim and concluded that the advertisement did have a fair usage policy explaining the usage of the package which was fair. The Ooredoo complaint was dismissed. However, the CRA will clarify the rules regarding Fair Usage Policy in order to improve transparency to the customers.
