The 25th edition of the International Space Radio Monitoring Meeting (ISRMM) was held in Doha, the State of Qatar from September 3 - 5, 2024 by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), the event aimed to bring together experts in satellite monitoring and measurements to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the field.
The annual multilateral meeting was attended by 170 participants from around 30 countries from communications and spectrum management regulatory bodies engaged in or interested in satellite monitoring and measurements, as well as representatives from satellite communication companies, equipment manufacturers, and other satellite related organizations. Delegates who could not attend in person were able to attend and watch the online streaming of the sessions on Day 1 and Day 3.
The meeting, organized in 3 sessions:
- Symposium, which brought together specialists from various sectors including the satellite industry, space monitoring stations, regulatory bodies, space agencies, and stakeholders who shared insights and engaged in discussions on cutting-edge technologies related to space monitoring, geolocation, interference mitigation, as well as policies, regulations, and recent experiences in the field.
- Site visits to Space Radio Monitoring Center (SRMC) and Eshailsat Teleport facilities in the State of Qatar
- Regulator’s Expert Meeting, exclusively attended by specialists from regulatory authorities within the sector to facilitate the exchange of experiences regarding procedures and the handling of particular radio monitoring cases. Additionally, participants were engaged in discussions regarding newly adopted regulatory approaches by administrations.
