CRA launches consultation on its Mobile Site Sharing Instruction

This Instruction would apply to all licensed telecommunication and network service providers to share mobile sites in Qatar

The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) launched today a public consultation on its Mobile Site Sharing Instruction to seek comments of all stakeholders. According to the Telecommunications Law (Article 112) licensed telecommunications networks and mobile service providers are required to share mobile sites in the State of Qatar.

This sharing of mobile sites is essential to meet national network coverage and quality of service needs. This Instruction sets out the details for mandatory site sharing of all existing and proposed new mobile Sites.

The CRA intends to revise the Mobile Site Sharing Instruction and issue a final version, taking into consideration all the received comments, views, and subjects that the stakeholders would like to be addressed and/or clarified in a revised Instruction.

All stakeholders and interested parties are invited to review the consultation document available at this link and provide their comments and views to the CRA by September 8, 2014. Comments should be submitted by email to: raconsultation@ict.gov.qa.
